Class Descriptions (Studio Classes have Dress Code and Shoe Requirements below.  In school classes require proper footwear only.  Dance attire is optional.) 

Toddler & Me Dance Classes (Offered on group request.)

Toddler & Me dance classes are for children 18 months up to the age of 3 years. Music, movement, balance and the basic dance steps are introduced in a fun, friendly and positive manner. This type of class includes mom or dad or another loved one participating in the class along with the little dancer. Our teachers will keep the music and curriculum moving along while parents take an active role in encouraging, supporting and keeping the little dancer on track.  Recommended Dance Attire: non-restrictive clothing, leotards, and ballet shoes. 

Preschool Combo (ages 3-4 years)
We incorporate an even mix of the three types of dance over the 45 minute class time using high-energy music.  Dance Attire is required: leotards, tights and ballet and tap shoes. 

Pre-K/Kinder Combo (ages 4-6 years)
This dance class is for 4-6 year olds and incorporates ballet, tap, and jazz technique while also encouraging self-expression and creativity.  We incorporate an even mix of the three types of dance over the 45 minute class time using high-energy music.  Dance Attire is required: leotards. tights and ballet and tap shoes. 

Tumble Dance Combo 1 (ages 2-4 years)
This combo class is for 2.5-5 year olds and incorporates basic tumbling with ballet dance technique while also encouraging self-expression and creativity
This is a non-recital class.  Required attire: leotard (gymnastics or dance)

Tumble Dance Combo 2 (ages 5-8 years)
This combo class is for 5-8 year olds and incorporates basic tumbling with ballet dance technique while also encouraging self-expression and creativity
This class will learn a routine for the recital at the end of the semester.  Required attire: leotard (gymnastics or dance)

Ballet 1
Beginner Ballet Class. Students will focus on building the strength, flexibility and control needed to execute ballet moves. Each class will emphasize barre exercises and may also include a combination of center floor work and across-the-floor combinations. This class will learn a routine for the recital at the end of the semester.  Dance Attire required: Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes.

Ballet 2
Intermediate/ Advanced Ballet Class. Students will learn classical ballet techniques and terminology. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work, and across-the-floor combinations. This class will learn a routine for recital at the end of the semester.  Dance Attire required: Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes.

Lyrical
Beginner Lyrical.  This class gives students the opportunity to experience lyrical dance, which combines techniques and skills from ballet, jazz and modern. Students will also explore how lyrical dance emphasizes interpretation of music lyrics to tell a story with movement that can be fluid or abstract. This class will learn one routine for the recital at the end of the semester.  Recommended dance attire:  form fitting active wear, jazz shoes or barefoot.

Jazz 1
Beginner Jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. This class will learn one routine for the recital at the end of the semester.  Recommended dance attire:  form fitting active wear, tan jazz shoes.

Jazz 2
Intermediate/ Advanced Jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. As students progress through each level, curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate. This class will learn one routine for the recital at the end of the semester. Recommended dance attire:  form fitting active wear, tan jazz shoes.

Pom Dance
Pom is a class designed to introduce dancers to the basics of proper jazz dance technique while including the sharp synchronized movements and visual effects of working with pom poms! This class will learn one routine for the recital at the end of the semester. Recommended dance attire:  form fitting active wear, tan jazz shoes or clean tennis shoes.  Tan jazz shoes required for recital.

Hip-Hop
Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Hip hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform moves. Therefore class includes upper and lower body conditioning as well as a rigorous warm-up to help prepare students for more intense movements. This class will learn one routine for the recital at the end of the semester.  Recommended dance attire:  Form fitting active wear and clean tennis shoes.

Tap 1
Beginner Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. The class emphasis is on developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun. This class will learn one routine for the recital at the end of the semester.  Recommended dance attire:  form fitting active wear, black tap shoes
