Tippi Toes® is More Than Dance

At Tippi Toes®, we strive to be more than dance.  What does that mean?  For us, it means that beyond teaching the techniques & terms of dance we are also teaching life skills.  We help our students foster friendships with one another.  We encourage students to support and cheer their peers on as they work on a new skill.  We show our students that being active is fun and a joyous experience.

The opportunity we have at Tippi Toes is special.  We do a great job of teaching passés, arabesques, and shuffle steps.  We have done that for 22 years and our students execute their dance choreography so well.  Many dance studios do the same – teach dance basics, teach dance terminology and leave it at that.  

At Tippi Toes, we want to go beyond the status quo.  We want to surprise and delight our customers with more than a typical dance class.  We shine the brightest when we focus on our students’ effort in learning a new skill.  We feel most impactful when we show children how to support their peers.  We are invigorated when we see students help the teacher with a task.  We are motivated by the idea of lifting the confidence young children have in themselves and their abilities.  Those are the moments that can leave a lasting impression.  

The incredible Tippi Toes instructors have training videos on dance technique and choreography.  We also focus on how to handle classroom situations in order to foster a happy and healthy classroom.  We continually, discuss how to make class high energy and positive for the kids.  We specifically request teachers praise students by name in class a certain number of times.  Why do we do this?  We believe it is paramount to making our dance classes the best in the world. 

As Maya Angelou, so beautifully wrote, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”  We hope to make our dancers feel value, seen, appreciated, loved, and inspired to be kind to those around them.  

We have the best job ever!
