Tippi Toes® Featured Teacher – Miss LaKendra

Tippi Toes® Featured Teacher of the month is Miss LaKendra Howard who teaches with Tippi Toes® Houston!

Miss LaKendra has danced collegiately as well as professionally. She began her dancing career in middle school, taking ballet classes and then dancing with her high school drill team. She has received extensive training in Horton technique while being a second company member of Urban Souls Dance Company, and currently dances with Impande Ye Africa, a South African theatre production and performing arts company.

Miss LaKendra’s favorite thing about Tippi Toes is the age of the students with whom she interacts, which range in age from 18 months to 5 years old. She enjoys being able to see them progress and is grateful to be involved in their learning process through dance.

Her favorite Tippi Toes moment is whenever a new little Tippi dancer comes out of his/her shell and starts to boogie!

Aside from teaching at Tippi Toes LaKendra still teaches dance in her church where she is also the praise dance team leader. When LaKendra is not dancing she is either studying for school or sleeping.
