Featured Franchise Owner – Miss Brittany
Every month we like to highlight one of our terrific franchise owners to hear their story and how they got started. This month, we’re speaking to Brittany Friske, who owns her franchises in the surrounding Tusla, Oklahoma areas.
Hi Miss Brittany!
Thank you for taking the time to talk to us about your journey. We can all learn from each other through sharing our journeys. Please tell us a little about yourself.
Where did you grow up and how did you come to be in Tulsa, OK?
I grew up in Bossier City, LA until my dad’s job took us to Tulsa, OK two days before starting high school. I fell in love with the area and returned with my husband after graduating from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK.
How long have you had your Tippi Toes® franchise?
I started out as a Tippi Toes® teacher in college, then worked as a manager of the OK territory, so when the opportunity came about to start a franchise I had to jump on board. I became a franchise owner in 2010.
Did you ever think you’d be a business owner?
I never thought I would be a business owner, but it has been such a blessing!
What made you decide to choose this business?
I fell in love with the mission of Tippi Toes® when I worked for Sarah and Megan in college. I’ve danced since the age of 3, and have a passion for children, so I knew Tippi Toes® was the perfect fit.
What advice do you have for other people starting out on this road?
Have patience and practice positive self talk. You will get there! Building a business takes time. And in the mean time, soak up the cuteness of those sweet dancers!
What is the best thing about being a business owner?
I love the flexibility that comes with owning your own business. It has allowed me to stay home with my 2 beautiful girls which has been the biggest blessing! I also love the community between franchise owners. Such a wonderful group of amazing women!
What is the most challenging thing about being a business owner?
Delegating can be difficult, but I’ve made progress over the years. You simply can’t do it all yourself, so it’s good to have help!
If you could go back in time what advice would you give yourself?
I would cut myself some slack. I was too hard on myself in the beginning, and I know now to celebrate every small victory and not to sweat the set backs!
