Important Information on Classes

Are classes open to the public?

Locations are currently only open to children attending those schools. We may have classes open to the public on Tuesday evenings though, check it out!  

How long are classes?

Tippi Toes Ballet/Tap/Jazz and Hip Hop classes are 45 minutes long, Tiny Toes classes are 30 minutes long. Our school year session runs from August – June (with a few breaks such as Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring break).

We just found out about your classes. Is it too late to join?

We have open enrollment throughout the year, so it is never too late to join a class!

What is your enrollment fee?

We have a once-a-year enrollment fee of $35+tax ($37.38) that is due at the time of enrollment. For siblings, this enrollment fee is $20+tax ($21.30).

What does your enrollment fee cover?

This fee covers our usage of our online monthly payment system, supplies used in class and a Tippi Toes T-Shirt and water bottle for your child.

How is monthly tuition handled?

When you enroll in our classes, your tuition is due on the 1st of the month.  If you enroll in our free Auto Pay feature, your credit card will automatically be charged tuition on the 1st of each month.

What happens if we join mid-month?

Your tuition will be prorated accordingly.

What happens if we can’t continue dance this month?

Please contact our office 2 weeks before the 1st of the month if you wish to discontinue classes for that month so that you are not charged.  Our staff schedule is based on our enrollment numbers, so we need to plan accordingly if we need to change anything in our schedule.  

What should my dancer wear to class?

Dance clothing is not required for Tippi Toes classes, we want your child to be comfortable!  Tippi Toes encourages each dancer to wear dance attire or one of our Tippi Toes leotards or t-shirts along with tights, leggings, or a skirt. For the safety of your child, pink leather ballet slippers are preferred for Tiny Toes and Combo Classes. For Hip Hop/Jazz non-restrictive clothing to move in and tennis shoes or black slip on jazz shoes are preferred.

At our school locations, attire is up to you!  Your dancer may bring a change of dance clothes or wear non-restrictive school clothes. Ballet slippers are preferred.  Please let your school teacher know if your dancer needs to change before Tippi Toes class starts.

Do you have dance recitals?

We have dance recitals in December and June.  Although these are optional, we encourage all of our dancers to participate as it is a fun and special day for them to be STARS! These recitals are held at off-site locations. Each class performs in one of the 30-minute recitals held throughout the day. Information about recital will be sent home via email, newsletters and flyers throughout the year.

Toddler & Me dancers have in-class Rookie Recitals in December and June.  Family and friends are invited to these performances and they are held in the familiar environment of their Tippi Toes class to avoid stage fright!

How much is the costume fee and when is it due?

Costume fee for Winter Recitals is $25+tax for girls (includes tutu and t-shirt), or $10+tax for boys. Winter Costume Fee is due on November 1st.

Costumes for the Spring Recitals are $60+tax for girls, and $50+tax for boys. Spring Costume Fee is due on February 15th.

If you choose for your child to not participate in either recital, you must contact our office at 605-951-0081 or Miranda@TippiToesDance.com to let us know that you are not purchasing a costume.

What other fees are associated with Recitals?

We have NO other fees associated with our recital. We do not charge an additional recital fee nor do we sell tickets. You can bring as many people as you’d like to watch your dancer SHINE on stage!

We do sell merchandise at our recitals such as tshirts, leotards, tights, ballet shoes, CDs, Tippi the Turtle dolls, and most importantly – roses for your dancer!  Preorder forms come home a few weeks before recital.  

Do we rent the costume?

Costumes are purchased and are therefore yours to own!  We do not ask for costumes back after the recital unless you don’t want them.

How do we discontinue class?

If you need to stop classes at any time, please contact our office by phone or email.  We will need official written notification.  

Do you offer any other services beside dance classes?

We offer several fun dance camps throughout the summer.  We will send more information home regarding our camps throughout the year.  We would LOVE to see your dancer there! Camps are open to the public, so feel free to invite your friends!

We also have specialty Birthday Party packages that include dancing and a guest appearance by your child’s favorite princess!
