We are thrilled to welcome Miss Abby Lawson to our amazing team of teachers this year. I know she will be a huge asset and will love and encourage all her dancers each week. Meet Abby as she introduces herself in her own words:

My name is Abby Lawson, and I am from Newnan, Georgia. I am a Communication Studies major at Samford University. I quite literally grew up dancing- my mom couldn’t keep me still, whether we were in the grocery store, at school, or at church. I have been trained in ballet, tap, hip hop, and jazz. Musical theatre has been my passion since the sixth grade, and I also love making fun dance videos with my friends. Some of my awards and honors include Dean’s List at Samford University, the Math Department award at Trinity Christian School, and Trinity Christian School Homecoming Queen. My favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 16:14, “Let all that you do be done in love”. I have a passion for teaching kids and am so excited to be a part of this team!

Martha-Grace Scripps

Hello! I’m Martha-Grace Scripps and I am from Nashville, Tennessee. I am a sophomore nursing major at Samford University. Dance has been a part of my life since I was 3-years-old, and I’ve trained in styles including ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip-hop. I also competed with Nashville Dance Center for 5 years, and won many regional and national titles with them! My freshman year I was also apart of the Samford Dance Team!

On campus I am also involved in my sorority, Chi Omega, in a home group, and hope to get involved with the women’s ministry, “Delight”. I love to hike, hang out with friends, and go to a good breakfast restaurant! Right now my favorite bible verse is Psalm 23, because I love the imagery and truth behind those powerful verses. Cannot wait to be back teaching the next generation of dancers with Tippi Toes!

Vaidehi Dhutia

Please join us in welcoming one of our newest Tippi Toes of Birmingham team members, Miss Vaidehi Dhutia.

“Vai” is a rising senior at the University of Alabama at Birmingham on the Pre-Physical Therapy track, majoring in Kinesiology. She grew up in Atlanta, GA, where her passion for learning dance began. As a younger girl, she danced for fun until she joined a dance team in college where she had the opportunity to become a co-captain. This was a more competitive field of dancing. When she is not dancing she loves fitness, hiking, as well as teaching yoga to families. After dance, she says fitness is her next biggest passion because it allows her to be a happier and better version of herself. Vai hopes to continue her passions for dance and fitness throughout her lifetime where she can share her love for these two activities to friends, family, and peers.
