Melanie Roberts

 

Melanie Mae Roberts, has lived in the Birmingham Area for ten years. She is a proud graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology. After graduating from The Alabama School of Fine Arts she was accepted to The University of Alabama, where she danced as a member of the dance department, Alabama Repertoire Dance Theater, and the Crimson Cabaret Dance Team. 
Melanie has been a professional dance instructor and choreographer for six years working with all ages and styles, from competitive dance to pageantry. Since the age of two, she has studied various dance styles from classical ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, contemporary, hip hop, tumbling, and ballroom. 
Of her many accomplishments, the most rewarding experiences were traveling across Southeast Asia for an International Dance Tour 2014 and representing her college and hometown titles during her years of service in the Miss Alabama Scholarship Pageant, Miss America Organization.

Heather Foreman

Heather is from Memphis, TN. She began her dancing career at five years old at Studio B. She danced for both her middle school and high school dance teams, winning a National Championship title and placing in the top 10 three years. She is currently studying Business at Samford University and is a member of the Samford University Dance team. Heather loves to dance because, “Dance is an art and as any other art it is a form of expressing yourself. Unlike any other art however, all you need to dance is the body God gave us.” 

Macy Marin

Macy Marin is from Tullahoma, TN. She began taking dance when she was 5 years old at The Dance Company in Tullahoma. She has danced for 18 years, played many roles, including Claira, in the Long School of Dance’s The Nutcracker, and competitively clogged for 16 years. She cheered through out middle and high school, being named the varsity caption and to the Tennessee All-State Squad her senior year. She is currently studying Journalism and Mass Communications at Samford University. She has a passion for sports and dance, and is so excited to share her love of dance with children. 

 

Jahina Somo

Jahina is from Hoover, Alabama. She started dancing at the age of four years old doing something similar to Tippi Toes and has now been dancing for 15 years. She danced at Spain Park High School on the varsity competition team for two years and was named an All-American dancer in 2015 at the UDA conventional camp. Jahina is a sophomore at Jefferson State community college and plans transfer in the fall of 2018 to the University of Alabama to complete her Bachelors Degree in Advertising. She is also a photographer. Her hobbies include up-cycling thrift-store clothes, dancing, and learning to compose music.

Lauren Sizemore

Lauren is from Birmingham Alabama. She began dancing at three years old and has loved every minute learning ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe. She is currently studying Early Childhood Education at Samford University. Lauren is so excited to share her love and enthusiasm for dance with children. She is thrilled at the opportunity to have an impact on these little lives.

Emily Fenske

Emily Fenske is from Flower Mound, Texas. She began dancing at the age of four and received her training in the genres of ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, and tap from Ballet Conservatory in Lewisville, Texas. She has danced for fifteen years and was a member of LakeCities Ballet Theatre, a pre-professional dance company, for four years. She has performed in “The Nutcracker” for fourteen years and competed at Youth America Grand Prix for four years. Currently, she is a sophomore at Samford University studying nursing. She is also a part of Grace Dance Ministry through her school. She is so excited to be working with Tippi Toes and to be able to love, encourage, and teach children more about the world of dance!
